Some of you might be thinking - what is a pet duvet? Its sounds like something fancy schmancy, but let me tell you, its one of the most practical pet bed items to have! Have a pet that likes to take stuffing out of beds? How about a puppy who pees where he sleeps? What about something elegant and easy to clean? Pet duvet bedding allows you to address these issues while still being an attractive and elegant pet bed.
PLUSH PUP BEDS
Plush Pup in Shelby, NC, designs handmade pet duvet covers that are fashionable and durable. They are envelope style and are easy to wash. Plush Pup supplied one of their lovely pet duvet covers for the Fox & Feline Launch Party. One of the things that suprised me the most was how heavy the fabric was. Plush Pup uses super luxe and durable Sunbrella fabrics. Sunbrella is high end fabric used for a variety of home decor purposes from curtains to ottomans. The price range for a Plush Pup Dog Bed Duvet is $25-$55 depending on the size - with over 10 sizes to choose from!
HOW TO STUFF
• Plush Pup Pillow Insert
Plush Pup sells inserts in seven different sizes or contact for a special size. They are machine washable and made with heavy polyester fabric. This is the most attractive option and great for a puppy or senior dog that may have issues with soiling the bed. They are also really great for cats, we know hairballs happen and these beds are super easy to clean... Super fluffy and comfy too!
• Cover An Old Bed
If your dog in his puppy days went a little crazy on the bed you bought him, how about refinishing it? Plush Pup makes custom sizes if you need a size that you don't see. Its a great way to recycle a bed that is either faded, chewed on, or no longer matches your decor by covering it with a duvet. It make an old bed new again.
• Stuff With Old Linens
If your dog likes to pull stuffing out, try filling a pet duvet with towels, sheets, etc. If he happens to get the linens out of the back cover, you can re-stuff it easy with a mess. Its not as attractive, since it will likely be lumpy looking, but its a practical soluation. This is also good for a dog that likes to sleep in clothes because of their human's scent. If your pet soils the bed, you can throw everything in the wash.
MAKE IT MATCH
Get really coordinated and match your Plush Pup bed to other home decor items! Matching pillows, curtains, etc or make a custom request. The nautical patterns would be super cute for a beach house. They also make outdoor beds from Sunbrella outdoor fabrics - just ask!
Order multiples so you can always have a fresh cover handy and to change up decor. Once you have a Plush Pup insert or your fill, you can switch out to different covers. There are tons of patterns from modern to elegant.
